Join us on an exciting winter adventure outdoors at Macricostas Preserve! Participants will transform into a winter critter and explore the varied landscape: they’ll use all their senses to discover animals that live nearby, hunt for seeds, and collect nature objects to use in their ornaments. Back at the art stations, teaching artists will guide participants in making a birdseed ornament for their yard, and an owl ornament to hang in their home. They’ll discuss how animals survive the long New England winter, and imagine what it would take to live in the wild through the coldest months (hint: the seed ornament helps!) Each student will come away with a birdseed ornament, an owl ornament, and a growing appreciation for the wildlife that surrounds us all year long.​

¡Únase a nosotros en una emocionante aventura de invierno al aire libre en Macricostas Preserve! Los participantes se transformarán en un bichos de invierno y explorarán el variado paisaje: Utilizarán todos sus sentidos para descubrir animales que viven cerca, buscar semillas y recoger objetos de la naturaleza para usar en sus ornamentos. De vuelta a las estaciones de arte, los artistas de enseñanza guiarán a los participantes en la elaboración de un ornamento de semillas de aves para su patio, y un ornamento de búho para colgar en su hogar. Discutirán cómo los animales sobreviven el largo invierno de Nueva Inglaterra, e imaginarán lo que se necesitaría para vivir en la naturaleza durante los meses más fríos (sugerencia: El ornamento de semillas ayuda!) Cada estudiante vendrá con un ornamento de semilla de pájaros, un ornamento de búho, y un aprecio creciente por la vida silvestre que nos rodea todo el año.
